Home decorating can be so demanding that most people are overwhelmed by it.
Most are confused of how to go about it that they end up not going through with
it. It does not have to be complicated. Beginners in home decorating tactics can
resort to the simplest way which is by doing it one room at a time.
The first room we are going to deal with is the living room. As the name
suggests, this should not be a dead space. It should be decorated in such a way
that people would enjoy staying in it. There should be enough breathing space
and enough light to make it lively. This is also the most vulnerable to the
publics eye as it is the space where we mostly receive guests. It should be
cleverly designed, and at the same time, inviting. Achieving this could be as
simple as putting some coffee table books or magazines on top of the coffee
table. This suggests that people are welcome to sit and stay for as long they
like. For added flair, add a conversation piece that speaks about your personal
interests.
Moving on to the dining room, being a minimalist is a foolproof step. The
food on the table needs to be the focus that there should not be a lot of
distraction. If it is not too spacious, a mirror can be installed on the wall to
create the illusion of space. The dining table should be chosen according to the
number people in the house and the space you have. Cramped dining areas
discourage having that long chat after a hearty meal.
The entirety of the kitchen should be utilized. We do not want people to be
overcrowded in a corner just because it is wrongly planned. This is especially
useful when there are more chefs in your quaint kitchen when you plan to have
some people over. It should be clean but at the same time not too cold.
Cleanliness can be achieved simply by choosing an apt shade for the walls and
having an organized pantry. Strategically-placed tools and equipment, arranged
by the frequency of use, will make the kitchen more friendly too.
The bathroom, which happens to be the most overlooked room, is actually just
as important as any other. Everyone uses this room that comfort should be the
number one consideration. Toiletries, towels and other necessities should be
arranged in a manner according to its use. This is particularly important
because the simple management ensures that it would stay neat even with minimal
attention. There should be a dedicated shelf for the cleaning tools, such as
mops, chemicals and scrubs, as they are not too appealing to be seen.
The bedrooms should be decorated according to the person who owns it. Linen
patterns, color theme and other fixtures should clearly speak of who resides in
it. Thinking about that person and not your own taste will be appreciated as a
selfless act. If it is for a student, make sure that there is a writing desk and
some shelves. If it is for a kid, make sure that there are cupboards for the
toys and ample space to spread them. Even the color of the walls has an impact
on sleeping or being stimulated for certain activities. Doing it one room at a
time saves you from having too much in your hands. Do it slowly but surely.
