A Picnic At Home

Our homes are the most significant comfort zones of our lives. It is
considered as one of our basic necessities to include food and clothing. A home
worth living must be comfortable enough for us and our family. This is the place
where we completely hang out everyday, perform our daily activities and adorn it
the way we wanted it to look like.

To
add meaning and color to our house, we embellish it with lots of fascinating
decorations that can divert one’s attention. We painted our dull houses with
delightful colors so as to add a crisp, making it new and lively. What is
important is that color combinations should compliment with the furniture or
decorations in the house. There are various colors to flatter our taste.
However, in choosing variants of colors, one must also consider the embedded
meaning of it. It should be noted that colors also reflect our personalities.
Some of it can stimulate our individual interests, can satisfy pleasures, can
change our moods like when it is a warm or cool to the eyes and many others
depending on our priorities. Some meaning of the colors also varies from
cultural to ethnic to religious preference. For instance, red is strength,
bravery and courage while white color for the Chinese brings good luck and
happiness. Pink color promotes friendship and emotional maturity while it
connotes trust for Koreans. Blue is a color of wealth and success and brings
God’s consciousness according to feng shui experts. The color yellow provides
happiness and intelligence while it means life for the Japanese people. More and
more of these meanings create great perspectives on our lives if we take an
extra effort to find out before embarking on a plan of painting or repainting
our houses.

Not only that we beautifully adorn our indoor house. The surroundings of the
house must also look fabulous. Enhance the veranda with an outdoor décor such as
antique chairs. If the place is quite conducive for reading, one can initiate a
sort of reading nook where we can put our native magazine holder teeming with
our favorite magazine collections, sitting and relaxing at Grandma’s much loved
wood rocking chair. It can also be a venue for siesta time with the kids at
home. The mother can plot a mat on the floor and read story books to the
children or rock the baby to sleep in a self-made hammock. Socialization is a
healthy activity for the family. It is a good time for them to bond together
especially if the family is complete. The garden grown with Bermuda grasses is a
natural outdoor décor. The kids can run around and if the garden is vast and had
lots of tress, children can play hide and seek. If the family is bored with
eating inside the house, they can have a picnic at the garden. One only needs a
piece of mat, food and drinks or even make a barbecue. It is a good initiative
because the family can save time and money in planning for an outside house
activity because there is an available garden already in the house.
